Choose Your Assassin Build: Lightning Sentry or Wake of Fire
Choose your Assassin gear around the way you enjoy fighting: lightning sentries that attack from a distance or fire traps that cover approaching enemies in waves of flame. Compare the complete setup—not just the main weapon—to decide which package fits your character and farming goals.
Lightning Sentry — ranged lightning damage. This Trapsin places sentries that fire lightning bolts at nearby enemies, letting you reposition while your traps attack. Choose it for a lightning-focused playstyle built around trap placement rather than melee combat. Fire Blast provides a separate source of fire damage to complement your lightning skills.
Wake of Fire — fire damage across monster groups. Wake of Fire releases waves of flame that hit enemies in their path. Choose this setup when you prefer covering an area with fire traps and drawing monsters through it. Consider the enemies you plan to farm: fire resistance and immunity can make some encounters less suitable than others.
Death Sentry — turn the first kills into pack clearing. Death Sentry can detonate nearby monster corpses, helping you finish surrounding enemies once the first targets fall. That makes available corpses an important part of your clearing strategy. Its corpse explosions cannot contribute against an isolated boss when there are no usable bodies nearby.
Trap placement speed matters. Increased Attack Speed benefits trap placement, so do not evaluate a Trapsin package only by its caster stats. Burst of Speed can support faster trap laying and movement, while Fade offers resistances and defensive benefits. These two buffs cannot be active together, so your equipment should support the one you intend to use.
Use crowd control alongside your damage. Cloak of Shadows can suppress many monsters’ ranged attacks, while Mind Blast can stun or temporarily convert susceptible enemies. These tools give you room to reposition and replace traps, although not every enemy is affected in the same way.
Compare the equipment before ordering. The Lightning Sentry package lists Heart of the Oak, while the Wake of Fire package lists a Plague claw. Both listings include Enigma, a Call to Arms weapon swap, Assassin skill charms, an Assassin Torch, Annihilus and Act II mercenary equipment. Review the exact bases, rolls and equipment requirements, then select the correct platform, realm and game mode. These are gear packages for your own Assassin—not pre-leveled characters.
